Short on time? Explore is the quickest way to experience Lake Te Anau, South Fiord and the waterfalls of Fiordland National Park.
Departing directly from the Te Anau lakefront, this one-hour boat cruise takes you across Lake Te Anau and into the entrance of South Fiord. Within around 10 minutes, the open lake narrows and you are surrounded by native beech forest, rocky bluffs and towering Fiordland mountains.
This may be our shortest adventure, but it is much more than sightseeing from a distance. When conditions allow, we take you right up close to waterfalls cascading down the fiords.
The full hour is spent exploring by boat, with Chris or Erica sharing local stories and knowledge about Lake Te Anau, South Fiord and the surrounding wilderness.
The route changes with the weather, recent rainfall and lake conditions, allowing us to find the best scenery and waterfalls on the day.
